What you can expect from us
Like everything else in life, moving into a new experience can be both exciting while, at the same time, bring up a number of questions and concerns. The purpose of this section is to outline the agreement we make with you, the parent or guardian of our student(s). We will do our best to:

What we would like from you
In order to deliver on the promise of building confidence, character and community through sailing, this is what we need from you as a parent or guardian. We ask you to:

Parental Engagement
Parents and siblings are welcome to stay at Sailing Center and watch their camper sail. Younger siblings might enjoy playing on the beach at Lemon Bay. Please be aware that Lemon Bay, the park and boat launch area is an active marina with lots of traffic and fishing. Closed heel and closed toe water shoes must be worn in the water to avoid fish hooks and debris (no crocs) Life jackets are always worn by all adult volunteers and all youth when near the water. Graduation Lunch and Family Sail On the last day of each program, you and other family members and friends will have the opportunity to sail with your students. We will have a graduation ceremony and delicious lunch at noon. Afterwards, if weather permits, your camper can take the family for a sail. We also invite you to join us on the beach where you can observe our programs in action. Finally, we are an all-volunteer organization. Our parents become volunteers helping out in many ways from shore crew to active sailing day volunteering. Please see the Volunteer Page for the opportunities. |
