NOTICE OF RACE​

1   ORGANIZING AUTHORITY & LOCATION
1.1 The Regatta is organized under the authority of Englewood Sailing Association (ESA). 
         1.1The event will be sailed on Lemon Bay, adjacent to Indian Mound Park, 210 Winson Ave, Englewood, FL.                             
2      RULES
         2.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
         2.2 Competitors are required to always wear an appropriate self-buoyant PFD while launching boats, on the
                floats, or on the water, except temporarily while adding or removing clothing.
3     SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
                The sailing instructions will be available after 12/10/2024 on The Regatta Network.
4     ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 The Regatta will be open to the following classes: Club 420, Optimist R/W/B and Green, ILCA 6, ILCA 4. Pico and RS Quest, and Zest. 
        4.2 Eligible competitors must be under the age of 19 at the beginning of the year.
        4.3 Entries will be accepted until December 13, 2024.

        4.4 Entries will be made via The Regatta Network and linked to Englewoodsailing.org.
5     FEES
The required fees are as follows: $50 for Singlehanded, $75 for Doublehanded, if paid by November 30, $60 and $85 thereafter. This includes racing, 1 T-shirt per competitor, with Hot Dogs or Mac&Cheese and Ice Cream after racing.  Water will be provided.

6      SCHEDULE
      6.1 December 14, 2024.  Check in opens at 900 hours.
      6.2 Skippers Meeting at 1100 hours.
      6.3 Warning Signal for the first race at 1200 hours.  Additional races to follow.            
       6.4 No races will be started after 1500 hours.
7      COURSES     The courses will be described in the Sailing Instructions 
8   PENALTY SYSTEM
          8.1 Appendix V1 will apply for all classes.
          8.2 The protest desk will be located at the check-in table.
9      SCORING    
          9.1 The Low Point scoring system shall be used.  (Example: 1 for first place, 2 for second, etc.)
          9.2 No scores will be excluded.
          9.3 One race shall constitute a Regatta.
         9.4 It is the intention of the race committee to run as many races as practicable.
  
10   SUPPORT BOATS
10.1 Coach boats may be enlisted as needed for additional support.
10.2 Coach and spectator boats shall stay clear of the racecourse as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions.
10.3 Coach and Support boats shall launch at the Indian Mound Boat Ramp. 
        
11   PRIZES
  Prizes will be given as follows: First through fifth for the Regatta.
12   DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
  Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 3, Decision to Race.
