NOTICE OF RACE​

1   ORGANIZING AUTHORITY & LOCATION
         1.1 The Regatta is organized under the authority of Englewood Sailing Association (ESA).  
         1.2The event will be sailed on Lemon Bay, adjacent to Indian Mound Park, 210 Winson Ave, Englewood, FL.                             
2    RULES
        2.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
       2.2  Competitors are required to wear an appropriate self-buoyant PFD at all times when launching boats, on the floats, or on the water, except temporarily while adding or removing clothing. This changes RRS 40.

3     ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
        3.1 The Regatta will be open to the following classes: Optimist R/W/B and Green, ILCA 6, ILCA 4, Pico and RS Quest and Zest.
        3.2 Eligible competitors will under the age of 19 at the beginning of the year.
        3.3 Entries will be accepted until December 8, 2023. 
        3.5 Entries will be made via The Regatta Network and linked to Englewoodsailing.org
4     FEES
Required fees are as follows: $50 for the Regatta if paid by November 30, $60 thereafter. This includes racing, 1 t-shirt per competitor and Hot Dogs and ice cream after racing. Water will be provided.
5    SCHEDULE
      5.1 December 9, 2023.  Check in opens at 800 hours.
      5.2 Skippers Meeting at 1100 hours.
      5.3 Warning Signal for the     first race at 1200 hours.  Additional races to follow.            
      5.4 No races will be started after 1430 hours.

6     SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available after 12/4/2023 on The Regatta Network 
7    COURSES    The courses will be described in the Sailing Instructions.  
​8    SCORING    
        8.1 The Low Point scoring system shall be used.  (Example: 1 for first place, 2 for second, etc.)
        8.2 All races shall be included. 
        8.3 One race shall constitute a Regatta
9    PENALTY SYSTEM
        9.1 Appendix VI will apply for all classes.
       9.2 The protest desk will be located at the check-in table. 

10  PRIZES
        Prizes will be given as follows: First through fifth for the Regatta.
11  DISCLAIMERS OF LIABILITY
        Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race.
12   SUPPORT BOATS
     12.1 Coach boats may be enlisted as needed for additional support
     12.2 Coach and spectator boats shall stay clear of the race course as described in the Sailing Instructions.
     12.3  Coach and support boats shall launch at the Indian Mound Boat Ramp.
