Cost: Free to the Englewood Community
What: Race your cardboard boat with up to four paddlers, Prizes awarded to the winners!
Bring: a folding chair and your community spirit
Food: coffee, breakfast options, drinks, ice cream by Shaz Shack and Outside the Box food trucks
Parking: Boats may be dropped off at 8:30AM. Parking available on W. Green and Magnolia, four blocks away. Stumpy's will run a golf cart shuttle between Green Street parking and Indian Mound Park
Free Boats Available: Bart and Austin Tracy and the Sunrise Rotary will be providing free cardboard boats. Come by Tracy Lasbury Realty (312 S. Indiana Ave. Englewood) starting August 22. Take a free boat home to paint and decorate.

Fall Youth NOVICE Sailing Registration is OPEN: Sailors who have NOT completed summer camp , but would like to sign up for FALL YOUTH SAILING. This program is for youth who have NEVER sailed before. Fall Youth RACING Registration is OPEN: Sailors who have sailed with ESA for a year or more are invited to join our RACING team. Racers will compete in the ESA Lemon Drop Regatta on Nov 14. In addition, Racers will travel overnight to one regatta. Ages 9 to 17. Nine Saturdays starting Sept 26 to Nov 21 from 11 to 3PM. $275 Register HERE for Fall Youth RACING
Fall Youth COASTAL CRUISING Registration is OPEN: Sailors age 13 and older, who have sailed with ESA for a year or more, and are actively volunteering are invited to join our Coastal Cruising class. Englewood Sailing Association has been teaching small boat sailing on Lemon Bay since 2002. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to building confidence, character, and community through sailing. Every year over 150 people from Sarasota and Charlotte Counties and beyond learn to sail with us.

ESA hosts the Cardboard Boat Races on Saturday Sept 5 at 8:30 AM: The Cardboard Boat Races are sponsored by the Englewood Chamber of Commerce and open to the whole community. The races are hosted by ESA at Indian Mound Park. ESA Youth and adults are invited to build a cardboard boat and to enter the races. ESA youth and adult volunteers are needed to help with the event. Fall NOVICE Sailing starts Sept 5 from 11 to 3PM. For youth ages 9 to 17 who have NEVER sailed before. The Novice program is designed to teach the basics of sailing so youth who did NOT attend summer camp can join the Fall Program, which starts Saturday Sept 26.

ESA joins the Alligator Creek Fest on Saturday Oct 17 11AM to 2PM at the South Venice Yacht Club 4425 Yacht Club Drive, Venice. (Not the Venice Yacht Club). Youth and adult volunteers are needed to staff an information tent promoting our programs. Shifts are 2 hours, free lunch included. Contact Cathy if you can help.
We're a proud partner of US Sailing, the official governing body for small-boat sailing. We have US Sailing-certified instructors, and our programs follow US Sailing's "Learn Sailing Right" curriculum. Graduates of our fall and spring beginning sailing program can earn certification through US Sailing's "Little Red Book" program.
