Help with Hurricane Recovery:
Our beloved Sailing Center was hit hard by two Hurricanes within two weeks.
Storm surges devastated our site in Indian Mound Park.
We lost one shed, our boat racks, and our fence.  All boats were damaged and 8 were not seaworthy.
Our 27' keelboat Slow Flight sunk and cost $4000 to remove from the Intracoastal.
Our 16' keelboat Venture was totaled.

Our Recovery:

With generous donations and our cash reserves we had youth back on the water just three weeks after Hurricane Milton.
Our property insurance paid for some repairs and replacements.
We bought a new fence, new boat racks, and a new shed.  The racks and sheds are mobile and can be removed from the Sailing Center before a storm.
Members donated time and dollars to get us going again.
Edison Sailing Center generously donated boats, dollies, and cash to help us get back on the water.
Our Adult Learn to Sail class occurred in November, 2024.  Instructors adjusted to the limited boats available.
In late November, a fiberglass repair expert held a clinic to teach members to repair boats.  Members repaired the damaged boats.
We held the Lemon Drop Regatta in December.  We had fewer teams than usual because other sailing clubs are still recovering.
Steve and Sue Rosen generously donated their 26' Grampian Daydream'.  The Coastal Cruising class resumed in February.
We ordered new masts and got Venture and 3 Quests back on the water.  Repairs are ongoing for the other Quests.
Our Adult Learn to Sail classes in February and March were at capacity.
