US Sailing Certified Instruction

Several of our adult staff and senior youth coaches have completed US Sailing's Level 1 Instructor Certification Course and our small boat programs are based on US Sailing's plan of instruction for beginning sailors. That, combined with the years of sailing experience on our team, assures our students of a safe and enriching learning experience.

All adult staff complete a background check and training on how to prevent and respond to mistreatment of youth.

Youth Coaches

Youth who graduate from our fall and spring programs are able to become coaches for our summer camps. At the end of every spring season we hold a coaching clinic, where experienced adult instructors pass on techniques for teaching sailing skills in a supportive and fun way. The clinic includes time on the water, where prospective coaches try their hand at identifying and correcting mistakes an adult instructor makes.
