Moving into a new experience can be exciting, but it can also bring up a number of questions and concerns. Here's our contract with you, the parent or guardian of our youth students:
We will do our best to:
Give your child(ren) a safe and fun learning experience sailing on Lemon Bay.
Keep you informed regarding our programs.
Let you know when we need to alter, cancel, or stop an event due to weather or other circumstances.
Communicate any special needs.
We ask you to:
Let us know about any special medical or other needs your child(ren) has.
Bring your child(ren) to the check-in area and make sure we have a contact number for the day.
Drop off and pick up your child(ren) at the scheduled time.
Let us know if someone other than you, the parent/guardian, will be dropping off or picking up your child(ren).
Let us know if your child is unable to attend on any given day or must arrive late or leave early. Call or text (410) 428-6742.
Ask your child(ren) how their experience was at the end of each day and let us know if we need to address any issues.
You're welcome to stay at the sailing center and watch your child(ren) sail or just enjoy Indian Mound Park and Lemon Bay. Space permitting, we can put you on a safety boat so you can get a better view.
We often have a graduation ceremony at the end of each program. We'll host a lunch and provide time for your child(ren) to take you out on a boat and show you what they've learned.
We're an all-volunteer organization. Our parents become volunteers and help in many ways, including shore duty, safety boat, and admin. Please see our volunteer needs page for more info.
