We're proud to be an all-volunteer organization because it builds a special camaraderie with the staff and it helps us keep sailing affordable. But even though we give our time and talent for free, there are many needs that can only be met with money. Small sailboats cost $6,800 to $13,600. Safety boats cost almost $30,000. Our insurance is over $9,000 per year. Boat and facility maintenance can exceed $15,000 per year. Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024 damaged almost all our boats and destroyed our storage sheds, boat racks, and fencing. Recovery costs exceeded $45,000.
While we benefit from grant programs in addition to our program fees, every donation helps us to offer low prices for all and financial aid for those in need. You can help by donating to ESA. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
