Note: The Novice Youth program is ONLY for Family Members of ESA
Many of the youth who are not able to attend a summer camp want to learn sailing and participate in our fall and spring youth programs. The NOVICE youth program is three Saturdays in September for youth who DID NOT attend summer camp, but would like to sail in the Fall Youth Program. The NOVICE youth program is also for youth who participated in summer camp but would like a refresher before Fall Youth begins. Specifics: The NOVICE programs are three Saturdays September 6, 13 and 20 for youth ages 9-17. Programs are 11AM to 3PM The cost is $100 per student per term (for financial aid, click on the link below) Families MUST also Join ESA as a family member. ESA is an all volunteer organization. Qualifications:
Student ages 9 to 17 The student must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian and signed in and out. The student's family must be an ESA Member. The process: Novice students will work one-on-one with an adult volunteer or a youth coach in an INTENSIVE learn to sail program. By the end of the second Saturday, youth sailors will be able to rig a sailboat, launch and land on the beach, and demonstrate basic sailing skills. |
