The ESA Board will meet on Wednesday, December 19th
Highlights: Our sailing center expansion project was approved by the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners. This will enable ESA to add 1250 square feet to our sailing center. Work will begin this fall. 33 students have signed up for our Fall Program. After discussion, it was agreed that we will hold our November Adult Learn to Sail class as scheduled beginning November 9th. Your Board discussed participating in the Edison Sailing River Romp to be held on October 17th and 18th. President John Riehl has sent an email to our students to see if there is interest. We also discussed the possibility of hosting a Fall Equinox Love Bug Regatta on Lemon Bay in September, 2021. John Riehl, Miriam Stavely and C.H. Ritt will meet with Dr. Roger Strube of Charlotte Harbor Youth Sailing will meet to discuss how we might go forward. We discussed a proposal to form a Lemon Bay High School Sailing Club hosted at our facility. It was decided that we are not yet ready to take on this project. Trina Nguyen agreed to take on the role of Banner Program Coordinator. We discussed the idea of an ESA Newsletter. C.H. Ritt volunteered to take the lead on producing the newsletter. The activity was turned over to the Marketing Committee for further work. |
