The ESA Board met on Wednesday, July 15th
Our first summer camp is complete and our second well underway. The coronavirus mitigation process is working well with students and staff all going through temperature checks, wearing masks on land, only one student and coach on each boat and social distancing during land based training and breaks.
Your board has met frequently during this very perilous period. We are tracking Covid19 cases in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties as well as the six zip codes that our students generally come from. We now estimate that roughly 1.4% of the population of the six zip codes have been tested positive for Covid19. After much discussion, this still remains relatively low, so we continue holding our summer camps with stringent mitigation procedures.
The Fall program for Beginners (kids who have completed a summer camp), Intermediates and Advanced sailors will begin on August 15th as scheduled. You can register students online by clicking here.
Wednesday sailing begins on August 5th. Members who know how to sail are free to take out a boat and sail every Wednesday from August through December for an additional fee of $50 for the five months. The program will be available all of next year for an additional fee of $100. The following practices will be enforced for the Wednesday adult sailing program:
The summer adult learn to sail program has been cancelled as a result of the pandemic. After discussion, it was decided that the risks outweighed the benefits for the summer adult program. The fall adult program is still scheduled for
